VPN providers generally take one of three approaches to IPv6 — native support, deliberate blocking, or accidental bypass — and knowing which one applies to your provider is the key to interpreting your own test results.
Disabling IPv6 is a reasonable temporary diagnostic or compatibility measure, but not the automatic first fix for every IPv6-related concern — it trades away IPv6 connectivity entirely rather than addressing a specific underlying issue.
AAAA records handle IPv6 name resolution, but the transport carrying the DNS query and the actual connectivity of the answer it returns are separate concerns worth checking independently.
